A granite egg...
Burgundia oenologie & Anforum collaboration
Burgundia Oenologie has teamed up with Spanish company Anforum to offer a unique container: granite eggs. Combining tradition and innovation, these natural granite vats enable unique vinifications, highlighting the characteristics of the terroir in each wine.


The idea was born in the Galicia region of northern Spain: why not make containers from local granite? Grey granite eggs, with their 10 cm thick stone walls, allow natural oxygen exchange thanks to the porosity of the granite. This material favors thermal inertia: the tank maintains temperature without sudden oscillations over time.  


The ovoid shape generates internal convection currents, making it an ideal container for maturing wines on fine lees. 




Three sizes are available: 7, 16 and 30 hL.
